SUFFOLK—Annie Ricks Bowers of Nansemond Pkwy., Suffolk, Va., departed this life on January 12, 2011, while a patient at Southampton Memorial Hospital. The Severn, N.C., native was born June 10, 1924 to Rubin and Viola Wood Ricks. She was a member of Tabernacle Christian Church.

Mrs. Bowers was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William A. Bowers, one son, William Nathaniel Bowers and grandson, Randy Bowers. Her memory will be cherished forever by one grandson, Terrance Bowers, Suffolk, Va., nine great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at 1:30 PM, Tabernacle Christian Church, 2500 East Washington Street, Suffolk, Va., with the pastor, Bishop Carlton Upton, delivering the eulogy. Her remains will be entombed in Meadow Brook Memorial Gardens.
