FRANKLIN—Ella Beatrice Perry of Council Road, Franklin, Va., departed this life January 6, 2011, in her residence.

“Bea,” as she was affectionately called, was a native of Franklin, Va., born January 26, 1921, to Arthur Holland and Mary Sessoms Holland Person.

She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Willing Workers.

“Bea” was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nelson T. Perry; two sisters, Amanda Williams and Mary E. Joyner; and two brothers, John L. Holland and William J. Holland.

She is survived by one son, Michael A. Perry (Deborah), Newport News, Va.; one sister, Mildred E. Person, Philadelphia, Pa.; two grandchildren, Michaela Cook and Marquay Perry; two great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.

A celebration of Love will be held on Friday, January 14, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Piney Grove Baptist Church, 1071 Carrsville Highway, Franklin, Va., with the pastor, Reverend Alfred Brown delivering the eulogy. Burial is in Southview Cemetery.

On the day of the service, her remains will be placed in church for viewing by noon.

A traditional service with dignity will be conducted by William M. Johnson and Sons Funeral Home, 224 S. Main St., Franklin, Va.
