RICHMOND—Virginia State Parks are seeking applicants to serve as AmeriCorps members this summer.

The AmeriCorps project will hire 34 interpreters from April to September to provide park guests with stewardship ethics, cultural programs and access to natural park resources.

AmeriCorps members will receive a stipend for living expenses, and upon completion of their service, will be considered for a $2,350 education award.

The program’s new positions stem from a grant from the Corporation for National and Community Service, which funds local and federal organizations that use national service to address local issues.
