COURTLAND—Country Acres Garden Club continues to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

For the milestone year, which was 2010, club members gave back to the community. They will continue doing the same this year.

In October, club members made floral arrangements for Southampton Memorial Hospital patients and East Pavilion nursing home residents.

In November, members made arrangements to go with the western theme at the Village at Woods Edge. Arrangements were donated, and the club reworked the raised garden beds with pansies and cabbage plants for the fall and winter.

This month, former members joined current members and presented a $1,000 donation to Southamtpon Agriculture & Forestry Museum in Courtland. The money will go toward landscaping.

The club will make small bedside arrangements in February for patients in the hospital.

In March, the club will make about 20 arrangements for Southampton Academy to be sold at its Annual Antique Show. In April, the club will donate daffodils to the patients at Courtland Healthcare Center.
