WINDSOR—Clarence “Sammie” Thomas Whitley, 79, of Windsor died Dec. 31, 2010.

A funeral service was held Tuesday at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory in Suffolk. Burial was in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Whitley, an Isle of Wight County native and Air Force veteran, retired from the maintenance department at Gwaltney’s.

Survivors include his wife, Martha G. Whitley, and daughters Linda Wangerin of Suffolk and Jackie Carr of Windsor.
