Julie Marie Walton and Daniel Pierce Baybutt were united in marriage on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, on the beach at the Nags Head Village Beach Club, N.C.

The Rev. James Michael Smith officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Clary Walton of Drewryville. She is the granddaughter of Elsie Clary Walton of Drewryville and the late John Shelton Walton and the late Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Edward Felton. She is the great-granddaughter of Annie Clary of Lawrenceville.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Mark Baybutt of Mechanicsville. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Edward F. Baybutt of Greenville, N.C., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Marvin P. Young Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Waverly G. King Jr.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

Matron of honor was Lindsey Francis Rush of Mechanicsville.

Maid of honor was Megan Brook Everett of Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Bridesmaids were Courtney Gordon Moseley of Emporia, Candice Nicole Cobb of Franklin and Stephanie Marie Fetherolf of Courtland.

The flower girl, cousin of the bride, was Alisabeth Ann Griffith of Franklin.

Kenneth Mark Baybutt, father of the groom, served as best man.

Groomsmen were Robert Scott Baybutt of Tahoe City, Calif., brother of the groom; John Michael Niess of Mechanicsville; William Kyle Bishop of Danbury, Conn.; and Adam Eugene Whitehead, brother of the bride, of Courtland.

William Upson Bradbury, cousin of the bride, served as the ring bearer.

Soloist Brenda Flowers of Courtland sang “May Valentine.”

Kelly Baybutt of Richmond read the scripture. Donna Pittman and Brenda Flowers served as the mistresses of ceremonies.

The bride’s parents hosted a reception following the ceremony at the Nags Head Village Beach Club.

The parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner for the wedding party, family and close friends at the Pamlico Jacks Restaurant in Nags Head.

The new Mrs. Baybutt is a graduate of Southampton High School in Courtland and Bon Secours Hospital School of Nursing and Virginia Commonwealth University, both in Richmond.

Her husband is a graduate of Lee-Davis High School and Microsoft IT Academy, both in Richmond.

They are both employed by Bon Secours Health System in Richmond.

Following their honeymoon in St. Lucia, the couple is living in Mechanicsville.

PARTIES

Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Upson, Jill Bryant, Nancy Partridge and Adam Whitehead hosted an engagement party for the couple at the Upsons’ home in Drewryville.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rush and Mr. and Mrs. Clay Francis hosted a stock-the-bar party at the Rushes’ home in Mechanicsville.

Elizabeth Crain and Patricia Gordon hosted a bridal shower at the home of Crain in Richmond.

Donna Pittman and Brenda Flowers hosted a bridesmaid luncheon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Pittman in July. The bridesmaids were presented with their gifts at this time.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Freeman entertained the bride and groom’s families for a brunch at their home in Kill Devil Hills, N.C., the day after the wedding.

The Drewryville United Methodist Women hosted a miscellaneous shower for the bride at the church in July.
