COURTLAND-Ethel Millikin Westbrook, 90, widow of Edwin Person Westbrook, Jr., passed away Dec. 16, 2010 after a brief illness. She was a daughter of the late Benjamin R. and Emma White Millikin, and was predeceased by her daughter, Jeanne W. Pope, her grandson Samuel E. Pope, III, her sister Corinne M. Williams and her brother Benjamin Millikin. She attended Mary Washington College and was a member of the Courtland United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her children, Peggy W. Shank (Ross) and James E. Westbrook (Jane), grandchildren, Christopher W. Pope (Rachel), Jeffrey W. Pope (Stephanie), Mark Franklin Pope (Kimberly), Virginia A. Conner (Ed), Fred R. Shank, III, Julie W. Holstrom (Ted), James Todd Westbrook, and 11 great-grandchildren: Morgan, Harrison, Mason, Avery, Anne Jackson, Tripp, Alison, Lauren, Hannah, Grace and Edward. She is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be conducted at 2:00 pm Sunday, December 19, 2010 at the Courtland United Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Gordon officiating. The interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Saturday at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, and suggests that memorial contributions be made in her name to the charity of your choice. www.wrightfuneralhome.org.
