To the Editor:

This is the time of year when people seem to help one another.

But thank God for people who help any time it is needed.

During the past year, my husband and I have had several health-related problems, which left us unable to do a lot of everyday things for ourselves. Not to mention a lot of health-related tasks.

We would like to acknowledge several people for their help. My best friend, Nancy, and her husband, Meredith Turner. They helped us with household chores and some personally assisted us.

Priscilla and Chuck Griffith, who are part of our family, carried my husband numerous times to doctor appointments when we could not do it ourselves. The two assistants at the Monroe trash site assisted us on many occasions.

We would like to give a special thank-you to John and Debbie Jenkins — two of the best neighbors we could ask for. John kept our yard cut and trimmed the entire summer. He carried my husband and me several times to the hospital and back. Debbie Jenkins cooked us the greatest Thanksgiving dinner ever.

Thanks to the many others who offered their assistance; we do appreciate it. Thank you all for being there for us.
