FRANKLIN—Western Tidewater can expect 1 to 3 inches of snow on Thursday.

Rick Curry, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Wakefield, said by mid to late morning Thursday, precipitation will be in the form of snow or a snow-sleet mix. By afternoon, the chance of precipitation will increase to 80 to 100 percent.

Curry said he expects the snow to stick to the ground and roads, depending on how much traffic a roadway has.

Thursday’s temperatures will be in the 20s in the morning and then warm up to the lower 30s by afternoon. The chance of precipitation will come to an end by evening.

Friday should be dry and in the upper 30s during the day and upper 20s at night. Saturday is calling for increasing clouds and a 30 percent chance of rain or snow.
