WINDSOR—People can learn more about proposals to build a new toll road parallel to Route 460 during a 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, meeting at Windsor High School

The project’s 11-member independent review panel will evaluate three companies’ proposals to build the new limited-access highway between Petersburg and Suffolk.

At the meeting, 460 Partners, Multimodal Solutions and Cintra Infraestructuras will present their proposals. After each presentation, the review panel will conduct a question-and-answer session.

Additionally, residents can review project information and make comments for the review panel’s consideration.

In October, VDOT completed its quality control review of the three proposals. Proposed tolls could range between $5.50 and $11 for cars to travel the 55-mile highway. For trucks, the toll could be as high as $22.

The independent review panel will make recommendations to VDOT’s commissioner and the Commonwealth Transportation Board on the feasibility of the three proposals in early 2011.
