Greene scores 24 in Tidewater Academy’s 70-38 win

WAKEFIELD—Tidewater Academy senior Mike Greene scored 24 points during the Warriors’ 70-38 victory over rival Southampton Academy on Tuesday night.

Tidewater snagged a 28-7 first quarter lead and never looked back.

“I thought we played extremely well in the first part of the game, which was the turning point of the game,” said Warrior Coach Walter Westbrook. “We shot the ball really well.”

Tidewater led 43-15 at the half and 62-21 at the end of the third quarter.

Tidewater junior LaMont Moore scored 15 points and senior Martin Hellyer added 10. Greene led in rebounds with 10, and senior Ferley Yerby made 6 assists.

For the Raiders, Blake Drewry led with 16 points and Rashodd Maxey added 12.

Tidewater travels to Steward School for a 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10 game.

Southampton Academy will host Blessed Sacrament Huguenot at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
