COURTLAND — Four men charged in connection with the murder of a 28-year-old Southampton County man are set to appear in court on Feb. 8.

Bruce Boone, 18; Darrin Robinson, 20; Dayquan Eley, 18; and Shahon Cumbo, 21, will have preliminary hearings in Southampton County General District Court for the murder of Darrin Lee. A preliminary hearing is held to determine if there is enough evidence for the case to continue.

All are charged with first-degree murder in connection with the Oct.7 slaying of Lee, 28, outside his home in the Southampton Meadows Mobile Home Park off Route 258.

The motive in the murder was likely robbery, according to police.

Boone, Robinson and Eley, all of Suffolk, were arrested shortly after Lee’s murder. Cumbo of Franklin was arrested in Chesapeake in late October.
