SUFFOLK-Mary Branche Sherard, 94, died on November 27, 2010 in Suffolk, VA. She was native of Southampton County and preceded in death by her husband Samuel Wiley Sherard.

Mary was a long time member of First Baptist Church, a 1935 graduate of Ivor High School, and a 1939 graduate of Norfolk General Hospital School of Nursing.

She is survived by her two sons, Sam Sherard and wife Mary of Suffolk, Chris Sherard of Fort Washington, MD and wife Penny of Suffolk; sister Ruth Duncan of Smithfield, VA; three grandchildren Cmdr USN Scott H. Sherard and wife Kristin of Virginia Beach, VA, Jennifer Sherard and Rebecca Sherard both of Richmond, VA; two great grandchildren Will and Caroline Sherard both of Virginia Beach, VA.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at 11 AM in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk, VA by the Rev. T. Floyd Irby, Jr.  R. W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington Street, Suffolk, VA 23434 is serving the family.
