SUFFOLK—Virgil Lee Derby Jr., 80, of Suffolk, died Nov. 22, 2010.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today, Nov. 24,  at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, Suffolk. Burial with military honors will be in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veteran Cemetery.
Derby was a native of Franklin and retired as a papermaker from Union Camp.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Carr Derby; daughter Sandy D. Savage of Gates, N.C.; sons Ricky and Harry Derby, both of Suffolk, and Scott Derby (Kaye Joyner) of Franklin.
