CHESTER—Jada Holloway Nichols of Alderwood Terrace, Chester, Va., entered into eternal rest on Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, while a patient in Chippenham Hospital, Richmond, Va.

She was born in Franklin, Va., the daughter of John Holloway and Edna Scott Holloway.

At an early age, she joined First Baptist Church, Hall Street. Jada was the first recipient of the church’s college scholarship program.

She graduated from Franklin High School in 1982. Jada was a member of the Franklin High School 1982 State Championship Basketball Team.

She continued her educational endeavors at Virginia Union University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in 1986. Jada was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.

For 24 years, Jada was employed by the Department of the Treasury as an Internal Revenue Service Agent.

She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Michael Nichols; parents, John and Edna Holloway; sister, Deborah Turner; brother, Gregory Holloway; maternal grandmother, Percella Edna Scott; three uncles; seven aunts; one great-aunt; mother-in-law, Jessie Nichols; sisters-in-law, Sabrina Holloway and Johnetta Nichols; brother-in-law, Glenn Turner; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral to celebrate Jada’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, 2010, at First Baptist Church, 318 Hall St., Franklin, Va., with the pastor, Rev. D.S. Riddick Jr., officiating.

On the day of the service, Jada will rest in church for viewing by 11:30 a.m.

The committal and benediction will be in Southview Cemetery. A traditional service with dignity will be conducted by William M. Johnson and Sons, Inc., 224 S. Main St., Franklin, Va.
