FRANKLIN—A Virginia Beach woman is behind bars for her role in an alleged murder-for-hire plot earlier this month in Franklin, police said Monday.
Desiree Elizabeth Brady, 28, was arrested in Virginia Beach on Nov. 16. After the arrest, police detectives obtained a search warrant for Brady’s home, where a “substantial quantity of drugs were recovered,” according to Franklin police.
Brady is charged with murder-for-hire and is being held at the Western Tidewater Regional Jail without bond. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending, according to police.
Luis Manuel Nunez, 28, and David Olonzo-Marcus Powell, 23, both of Virginia Beach, are also behind bars and facing a number of charges for their alleged roles in the crime, which police say involved gangs, narcotics trafficking and interstate firearms smuggling.
The suspects allegedly broke into an apartment in the 300 block of North College Drive, accosting, threatening to kill and holding the two female residents against their will when they returned home in the early morning hours of Nov. 3. One of the women was able to notify police in the early afternoon hours of Nov. 3.
