SMITHFIELD—In January, the Smithfield-Isle of Wight-Windsor Chamber of Commerce will launch Leadership Isle of Wight.

This 10-month, tuition-based program will provide a forum for the business, non-profit and public sectors to discuss issues and opportunities facing Isle of Wight, Smithfield and Windsor, while enhancing personal and professional leadership skills.

Through seminars, study groups, skill-building sessions and interaction with community decision makers, Leadership Isle of Wight will develop future leaders with vision and commitment to the community.

More than 130 have graduated from the program, many of whom now serve on boards, commissions, committees and councils throughout Isle of Wight and beyond.

This year Committee Chairman Donald Robertson of Isle of Wight County will select 20 to 25 individuals for the program. To receive an application, contact the chamber office at 357-3502, or chamber@theisle.org.

The application process will close in mid-December.
