COURTLAND—Lester McCoy “Les” Artis, 63 of Courtland, died Nov. 7, 2010, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at noon Monday at Bryant Baptist Church, Courtland. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Artis retired from Dominion Power Corp. after 37 years.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn B. Artis, Portsmouth; children Zakia McKensey of Richmond, LaMont Artis and Lester LeShawn Artis, Portsmouth; his mother, Pattie B. Artis; sisters Esther Artis, Madline Artis, Lofrandra Lewis of Richmond and Gloria Harding, Bowie, Md.

William M. Johnson and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
