Riley Best of Virginia Beach was awarded the Best in Show trophy for his 1903 Cadillac during the Paul D. Camp Community College Foundation’s 2nd Annual Antique Car and Truck Show on Oct. 30.

FRANKLIN—A Virginia Beach man took Best in Show with his 1903 Cadillac during the Paul D. Camp Community College Foundation’s 2nd Annual Antique Car and Truck Show on Oct. 30.

Riley Best’s 107-year-old car, which has a rear entrance tonneau, drew a lot of attention from participants and spectators.

“This is the second show I’ve taken it to,” Best said.

Mickey Allen of Newport News took the Best Car in Show for his 1972 candy apple red Nova SS.

The Best Truck in Show award was presented to Terry Wheeler of Newport News for his 1964 Chevy C-10 pickup.

Billy Piersa, Jimmy Pope and Ted Minor served as judges.

Awards were announced by Antique Car and Truck Show Chairman Herb DeGroft and presented by PDCCC President Dr. Paul Wm. Conco.

The winner of the 50/50 raffle, presented by Vice President for Institutional Advancement Dr. Patsy Joyner, was Janet Gail Hunt of Hampton.

Tom Norris of Smithfield donated his time to emcee the event and play oldies music.

Other volunteers included Student Ambassadors Sally Rensch of Carrsville, Pamela Kiger of Smithfield and Brenda Anyanwu of Zuni, and PDCCC buyer Lynn Phillips.

River City Enterprise/Mitchell Catering of Emporia provided food.
