Freedom is not free

To the Editor:

All this recent talk about the Navy airplanes and all the noise they produce got me to thinking.

Number one, freedom is not free; some sacrifices must be made. What is a little noise compared to the freedom we all enjoy because of those men and women in uniform who keep us safe?

Second, if you move into a home that is near an existing airfield, don’t complain about the noises the airplanes make. That would be like moving beside a railroad track and complaining about the noise the locomotive makes, then calling up and asking that they move the train tracks because the train is too loud!
