The Tidewater News received more than 400 entries for its 2011 Photo Calendar Contest.

Choosing 14 photos for the calendar was not easy.

On today’s Life page, we feature some of the finalists whose submissions just missed the cut.

The Tidewater News will announce the winner of the calendar’s cover photo contest on Friday, Oct. 29, and include the 13-month calendar with the other winning photos in the Sunday, Oct. 31, issue.

Thank you to all who entered photos. It was a lot of fun seeing what folks are up to in Western Tidewater.
