Gravley-Floyd

The marriage of Susan Elizabeth Gravley and Paul Epps Floyd, both of Greer, S.C., took place in the Palmetto Ballroom of the Hilton Greenville Hotel in South Carolina on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010.

The Rev. Dr. Todd Maxwell Hobbie of First Presbyterian Church of Concord, N.C., officiated at the 5 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Edith Elmore Gravley and the granddaughter of Mrs. Thomas Elmore, both of Greer, and the late Mr. Elmore.

The groom’s parents are Locke and Cathy Cornwell Floyd of Concord. He is the grandson of Mrs. Roy Caleb Cornwell of Ivor and the late Mr. Cornwell and the late Mr. and Mrs. Merrell Worth Floyd of Conway, S.C.

The bride is a graduate of Riverside High School in Greer and holds a degree in management from Clemson University. She is marketing director at Carolina Land Realty in Greenville, S.C.

The groom graduated from Concord High School and Clemson University with a degree in finance. He is a first lieutenant in A Co 1-118 CAV of the South Carolina National Guard and employed by Greenville County.

The bride was escorted by her brother, Lance Cpl. Michael Lee Gravley II , USMC.

Ashley Aeron Purdy, friend of the bride, of Tucson, Ariz., served as maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were the bride’s sister- in- law, Korina Gravley, of Maysville, N.C., and friends Emily Sice of Newburyport, Mass., and Lara Armstrong and Molly Ivester, both of Clemson.

Sgt. Matthew Rotan, USA, friend of the groom, who is currently serving in Iraq, was best man.

Groomsmen were the groom’s brothers, Michael Floyd, of Banglamong, Thailand, and Brian Floyd of Concord, and friends Andrew Boyd of Columbia, S.C.; Deonta Brinston of Easley, S.C.; Drew Deal of Charlotte, N.C.; and Joseph Plott of New London, N.C.

William Taylor and Thomas Taylor, both of Taylors, S.C., and Matthew Taylor of Traveler’s Rest, S.C., uncle and cousins of the bride, served as ushers.

A dinner and dance with music by Solution was held in the Piedmont Ballroom at the Hilton following the ceremony.

The groom’s family hosted a rehearsal dinner in the garden at Twigs Tempietto on the evening before the wedding.

Showers were given by Dr. and Mrs. Walter Vuchnich in Concord and Lara Armstrong, Molly Ivester and Edith Gravley in Greer.

A wedding day brunch was hosted in Greenville by Mr. and Mrs. John Erickson, Dr. and Mrs. Vincent Keipper, Melody King, and Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Stegman of Concord.

After a Caribbean cruise, the couple lives in Greer with their two dogs.
