Three arrested in murder

FRANKLIN—Three Suffolk men were charged with first-degree murder for allegedly killing a Franklin-area man at Southampton Meadows mobile home park Thursday night, the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Arrested in the pre-meditated killing of Darrin Lee, 28, were Darrin L. Robinson, 20, of the 500 block of Kilby Avenue; Bruce L. Boone, 18, of the 100 block of Tynes Street; and Dayquan Eley, 18, of the 1000 block of Davis Boulevard.

Lee died from an apparent gunshot wound to the head, said Capt. Gene Drewery with the sheriff’s office.

Deputies on patrol reported hearing shots fired in the 31000 block of Darden Street at 11:37 p.m. Deputies then found Lee, who was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:56 p.m.

The murder occurred in Southampton Meadows mobile home park off Route 258 South, where Lee reportedly lived.

An autopsy is being performed on Lee by the State Medical Examiner’s office in Norfolk, Drewery said.

The investigation was continuing.
