BOYKINS – Marilyn Hines Kirkland, 83, passed away at home with her family by her side October 7, 2010. She was born in Queens, NY, the daughter of Louis and Lillian Hines, both originally of Southampton County. As a child, Mrs. Kirkland spent happy summers in Boykins with her extended family, and later returned to make Boykins her home in 2003. She was a member of Boykins Baptist Church and its Ruth Class.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband and childhood sweetheart, Mutt Kirkland of Boykins; her daughter, Gretchen Moore and husband Jeff Moore, and her granddaughter, Lauren Moore, all of Cary, NC.
The graveside funeral will be conducted October 11 at 1 p.m. at Beechwood Cemetery with the Rev. Raymond Bunn officiating.
