WINDSOR —Arlis V. “Vic” Reynolds has been named the new Windsor police chief.

Reynolds assumed his duties Wednesday after serving as interim chief since mid-May, when former chief Bob Porti resigned to join the Franklin Police Department. Reynolds has been with the Windsor department for four years.

“I feel confident in Chief Reynolds’ ability to fill the role of police chief and know that he will serve the Town of Windsor with honesty, integrity and unwavering dedication,” said Town Manager Michael Stallings.

Reynolds was unanimously chosen by a panel of three retired chiefs, Stallings said. About 30 applications, from which six were considered, were received.

“The panel sat in on all the interviews, looked at all the qualifications and felt that Chief Reynolds was the right person for the job,” Stallings said.

Reynolds wants to let residents know that Windsor is a safe and secure place to live and work.

A resident of Carrollton, he will move to the Windsor area. He is a single parent with one son. Prior to his work in law enforcement, Reynolds served in the U.S. Army.
