Peggy E. Layne
Peggy Ann Edwards Layne, 51, passed away peacefully September 30, 2010, at St. Mary’s Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
Peggy was born in Petersburg, reared in Courtland and was a 1977 graduate of Southampton High School.
She was a member of Central Baptist Church and a longtime employee of Pepsico in Richmond.
She was predeceased by her parents, R. G. and Paxina Edwards.
Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Calvin Leroy Layne III, a junior at University of Virginia, and Joshua Michael Edwards of Richmond; one sister, Betsy Edwards Williams; two nieces, Jennifer Hresan and Ann Adams; one great-niece, Erice Adams; and three great-nephews, Kane and William Adams and Colin Hresan.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, at Central Baptist Church on Courthouse Road in Richmond with the Rev. David Turner officiating. Interment will be private by invitation only.
Memorial donations may be made in Peggy’s memory to a favorite charity.
