Margaret Stagg, 89, of 1101 Lake Kennedy Drive, Suffolk, passed away Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at her residence.
A native of Sunbury, N.C., she worked for Smithfield Packing Co. for 12 years.
Margaret was the Mother of Faith Cornerstone Holiness Church. Later, she became the Mother of St. Timothy Baptist Church and later changed her membership.
She leaves behind daughters Elsie Washington, Viola Giles (Raymond) and Eva Ralph (Thomas), all of Suffolk, Catherine Mayo (James) of Maneto, Shirley Archer of Brooklyn and Roma Stagg of Washington, D.C.; sons Ernest Stagg (Joyce) and Levon Stagg (Betty), both of Suffolk; 39 grandchildren; 104 great-grandchildren; and 54 great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, at St. Timothy Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Thomas E. Harden Jr. Interment will be in Little Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Crocker Funeral Homeis handling the arrangements. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
