NAME: Concetta “Cheetah” Gardner

AGE: 52

OCCUPATION & TITLE: Office assistant for Town of Ivor

SPOUSE’S NAME: Billy

CHILDREN’S NAMES & AGES: Brooke Page, 33, Josh, 29, and Jason, 27

CHURCH AFFILIATION: Mill Swamp Baptist Church.

IF I COULD CHANGE MY NAME, I’D MAKE IT: Anything normal.

PET I’D LIKE TO OWN: The one I have, a chocolate and black lab.

PEOPLE SAY I LOOK LIKE: My sister, Renee, and my daughter, Brooke.

FAVORITE MOVIE OF ALL TIME: “Steel Magnolias.” I like to laugh and cry at the same time.

TV SHOWS I NEVER MISS: “America’s Got Talent” and “Criminal Minds”

THE SECRET TO HAPPINESS IS: For me it is loving God, spending time with my husband and family, and enjoying life’s simple pleasures. You must find contentment right where you are to be truly happy.

I WISH I KNEW HOW TO: Play the piano better. I really wasted my parents’ money.

SONG I’D LOVE TO SING KARAOKE TO: The first thing that popped into my head was “Jeremiah Was a Bullfrog”

IF I HAD TO EAT THREE FOODS FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE, THEY’D BE: Fried chicken legs, watermelon and German chocolate cake

THREE WORDS THAT BEST DESCRIBE ME: Love to hum

ONE SUPERPOWER I WISH I HAD: To fly like superman

BOOK CURRENTLY ON MY NIGHTSTAND: The Simple Life—An Amish Devotional

MY PROUDEST ACHIEVEMENT: Raising three wonderful children and becoming a grandmother

MY MOST HUMBLING MOMENT: Our children threw us a 30th wedding anniversary party, and when I walked into the room, I lost my breath and almost fell backwards. They made us feel so special that day, and I was truly humbled by their thoughtfulness

MY MOST RECENT TRIP: Shroon Lake, N.Y., with our church youth group

MY LIFE WON’T BE COMPLETE UNTIL: I see Europe again

MY FRIENDS THINK I’M: Shy until they get to know me better, then they think I’m crazy

I REALLY LOSE MY COOL WHEN: My husband drives down Route 460 talking and forgetting to drive smoothly — he drives slow, then fast

FAVORITE COLLEGE SPORTS TEAM: University of North Carolina Tarheels

FAVORITE PRO SPORTS TEAM: Miama Dolphins. I name the sports teams because my husband follows them — I really don’t care for frootball

FAVORITE COLOR: I can’t choose just one because I love color. My husband says the older I get, the tackier my taste is becoming

THE BEST LIFE LESSON I’VE LEARNED AND WHO TAUGHT ME: Reach out to others for help when you have lost your way. A good friend taught me that during a difficult time in my life

BEST DECISION I’VE MADE IN MY LIFE: Accepting Christ as my Savior and marrying the man I love more today than ever before

LOCAL CHARITABLE OR NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION I WISH MORE PEOPLE WOULD SUPPORT: Newport News Rescue Mission and the Cystric Fibrosis Foundation. The men at the mission have lost their way in this life and need help getting back on track. But they are pointed to the One, Jesus Christ, who can give them the best life. Also, my friend Lorene Cook’s granddaughter has Cystic Fibrosis and the young teenager is such an inspiration to me.

WHAT GIVES ME THE BLUES: Taking down my Christmas decorations.

MY BEST CHILDHOOD MEMORY: Shopping with my dad and my siblings for the “perfect real Christmas tree,” while my mom stayed home and made hot chocolate or something good to eat.
