WINDSOR—R.J. Edwards returned the opening kickoff 83 yards for a touchdown, and the Windsor Dukes never looked back Friday night in a 55-14 win over winless Northampton.

The Dukes improved to 2-2 in rolling up 272 yards of total offense and limiting the visitors to 188.

Edwards, after his early heroics, added touchdown runs of 6, 30 and 27 yards in the first half as Windsor exploded to a 48-8 halftime lead.

The Dukes’ Mark Fenner and Austin Winkles also had TD runs in the first half.

Charlie Perfetti ran 8 yards in the third quarter for Windsor’s final points.

Edwards led the Dukes with 102 yards, while Fenner had 65.

“We did some things well,” said Windsor coach Chuck Parrish. “We executed well sometimes on offense. Defensively, we did not do some things well. You can always get better as a football team. We have to execute better on special teams, but overall we needed the win and the kids came out and gave us a win.”

The Dukes host unbeaten Northumberland for homecoming next Friday.
