SALUDA—Franklin’s junior varsity football team blanked Middlesex 54-0 on Wednesday to remain undefeated for the season.
By the end of the first quarter, every player had gotten into the game. By halftime, the Broncos led 48-0.
“In the second half, we made two offensive plays and scored on one,” said Coach Travis Councill. “After that we went down on one knee and let the clock run out.”
Among players scoring touchdowns were Lane Latrell, Marcus Stephens and Travis Brown. Brown also caught an interception for a touchdown. Masco Barrett caught two interceptions.
“The offensive line played well, and the defense was aggressive and fast,” Councill said.
The Broncos will travel to Windsor High School for a 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, game.
“We have a lot of work at practice this week,” Councill said. “They are a disciplined, well-coached, physical team.”
The Broncos two weeks ago defeated Southampton 42-16. Northampton High School forfeited to Franklin last week.
