To the Editor:

Franklin and the surrounding communities contain hundreds, if not thousands, of sports fans.

I have sat in the stands with people of strong opinions and heard just about everything you can think of for 50 years. That includes my personal connections to softball, baseball, gymnastics, football, basketball, soccer, field hockey, cheering, diving, swimming, volleyball and majorettes.

It is interesting and strange that you have given newspaper space to one fan (“Fan hopes SHS football can snap its losing ways,” Sept. 17) so that he could publish his thoughts and ideas.

Are you prepared to offer that forum to all the other fans?

If so, you might be overwhelmed with opinions, and you might be able to fill your newspaper space without the expense of reporters.

The point is not whether I agree with your columnist. It is just very curious.
