COURTLAND—The Piano Men, created by award-winning musician and songwriter Jim Witter, will open the Franklin-Southampton Concert Association’s 33rd season at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27, at Southampton High School.

The multimedia rock musical will take the audience back to the ‘70s and ‘80s as the songs of Billy Joel and Elton John fill the house, said Nancy Rowe, president of the association.

“This group has received rave reviews from music critics, and I’m sure we’re in for a real treat,” Rowe said.

Witter came up with the concept for the show, a musical journey through the years, when James Taylor and Harry Chapin, as well as Joel and John were popular, several years ago. Since then, the group, supported by bass, guitar, keyboards and drums, has played to packed houses across North America.

Witter says he has plans to take the show to London and Japan in the near future.

Season tickets at $50 each are still available. Admittance at the door is $30 for adults and $10 for students. For additional information, call Rowe at 653-2498 or Beth Ellington at 562-2881.
