Waller leads in assists for SA victory

COURTLAND—Southampton Academy junior Beth Waller led in assists with 12 during Thursday’s win over Kenston Forest.

SA lost the first match 20-25 and followed with wins of 25-16, 25-18 and 25-19. The victory gives the Raiders a 4-2 record in the Virginia Commonwealth Conference.

“It’s a good record,” said Coach Terry Bell. “We’re in a rebuilding year.”

Waller also had five aces on 18 serves.

Southampton Junior Bridgett Bradshaw had 9 assists and 9 kills. Teammate, junior Chelsea Speight, had 7 aces on 21 serves.
