COURTLAND—Nearly 2,200 attended the 17th annual Heritage Day at the Heritage Village/Agriculture & Forestry Museum on Saturday.

Boykins Girl Scout Troop No. 5073 opened the day with the flag raising and members of Boy Scout Troop No. 125 lowered the flag at the close of the day.

The day included demonstrations of heritage crafts and by Civil War historical groups, face painting, crafts vendors, antique cars, tractors and engines, miniature horses and donkeys, a petting zoo and more.

Visitors also saw the new country church built over the summer. The church will be dedicated at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3.

Next year’s Heritage Day will be held on Sept. 18.
