FRANKLIN—Lawrence Carr Beale, 48, died Sept. 10, 2010, at Sentara Obici Hospital.

He was born in Franklin and was predeceased by his father, Ocie Lawrence Beale.

Lawrence was a 1980 graduate of Southampton High School, a member of Black Creek Baptist Church, a former member of the Black Creek-Burdette Ruritan Club and a member of the Black Creek Hunt Club.

He was employed at Isle of Wight Forest Products in Smithfield and was a 21-year employee of International Paper Co.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 21 years, Sue Raiford Beale, daughter Megan Blaire Beale, son Miles Davis Beale and mother Bernice Clark Beale, all of Franklin; sisters Paige Boyette (Richard) of Machipongo, Sylvia Gray (Randy) of Franklin and Connie Alphin of Glen Allen; and a host of friends and extended family.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010, at Wright Funeral Home with the Revs. Greg Kitts and Larry Cribb officiating. Interment will follow in Black Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home and suggests memorials be made to Black Creek Baptist church Building Fund or Cemetery Fund.
