FRANKLIN—Police are searching for a 21-year-old Franklin man suspected in a drive-by shooting early Saturday morning.

According to police, Shahon Cumbo shot 19-year-old Franti Urquhart of Franklin at the BP gas station on Armory Drive at 1:40 a.m.

“My understanding is that his ear was shot off,” said police spokesman Lt. Tim Whitt.

Urquhart was treated and released for his injuries, Whitt said Tuesday.

Several rounds were fired and there was a large group in the area, but only Urquhart was hit, Whitt said. Police are unsure of a motive for the shooting.

Cumbo was identified by witnesses as the shooter and should be considered armed and dangerous, Whitt said.
