FRANKLIN—Virginia Marie Sawyer, 82, widow of Walter Carl Sawyer, died Aug. 21, 2010, at East Pavilion.

She was born in Gary, W.Va.

Survivors include daughters Janice Marie Osborne of Suffolk, Betty Jane Sawyer (Bill) of Franklin, Judith A. Aston (Ben) of Chocowinty, N.C., and Carrie Lynn Schnur (Mark) of Franklin; and sons William Kenneth Osborne and Walter Carl Sawyer Jr. (Lynn), all of Franklin.

A gathering of family and friends was held Monday at Wright Funeral Home.
