FRANKLIN—Franklin Farmers’ Market will temporarily relocate to Barrett’s Landing next week as Birdsong Peanut Co. fumigates its downtown warehouses.

The fumigation is set for Monday, Aug. 16. The Farmers’ Market will move from its Main Street location to Barrett’s Landing from Monday until Friday, Aug. 20, because of the proximity of the market to the warehouses.

While the chemical used for fumigation will leave an odor similar to garlic in the area, it does not pose a threat to the public.

Franklin Fire and Rescue as well as officials from Birdsong Peanut Co will strictly monitor the fumigation process.
