Lelia B. Campbell

Suffolk – Lelia Brewer Padgett Campbell, 77, died August 4, 2010 at her residence. She was born in Roanoke Rapids, NC, a daughter of the late Harvey J. and Elma Hand Brewer. Mrs Campbell was predeceased by her two husbands, Joe S. Padgett and Bobby Joe Campbell, a son, Joe Donald Padgett, a daughter, Joanne Babb, a sister, Mary Bolton, and a brother, Dan O. Brewer. She was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church and the T E L Sunday School Class.

Survivors include her son, Joel K. Padgett of Suffolk; three grandchildren, Jaime P. Beaudette and Dana Padgett, both of Virginia Beach, and Matthew Babb of Courtland; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Frances B. Jackson of Goldsboro, NC, Joyce B. Shaffer of Zuni, and Gloria B. “Gobi” Stainback of Emporia; and two brothers, Willie J. Brewer and Paul E. Brewer, both of Emporia.

The funeral was conducted at 2 pm Friday in the Wright Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Watson officiating. Interment will follow at Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
