Ruby Smith

Ruby Smith Smith, 82, died Monday, August 2nd, at Courtland Health Care
Center in Courtland, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents,
Wingate and Eunice Smith, her sister, Christine Smith Bracy, and her
brother, Robert Smith.
Mrs. Smith was a member of Boykins Baptist Church. She was a charter
member of the Boykins Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and a
member of the Boykins Volunteer Rescue Squad for many years. She worked
at Sears in Boykins, The Boykins Pharmacy and The Butcher Block in
Boykins.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and
a friend to many. She will be missed by everyone.
Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, Alton Louis Smith of
Boykins, three children; Rebecca S. Martin and husband, Johnny, of
Conway, R. L. Smith and wife, Sharlene, of Branchville, and Lori S.
Burgess and husband, Steven, of Conway, seven grandchildren; Dawn M.
Kusy, Jonathan Martin, Calissa Smith, Garrett Smith, Noah Burgess, Adam
Burgess, and Trenton Burgess, and two great-grandchildren; Kirsten Kusy
and Madelynn Kusy.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 5th, at 11:00 at
Beechwood Cemetery in Boykins with Rev. Raymond Bunn presiding.
The family will receive family and friends Wednesday, August 4th , at
Bridges Funeral Home at 605 W. Main St. in Conway, N C from 7 until
8:30.
