To the Editor:

As a Franklin High School classmate and football teammate of Kenneth Bradford, I enjoyed reading his letter to the editor (“Recalling good memories as Parker Drug closes,” July 23) concerning his grandfather George Parker and Parker Drug Co.

Kenneth’s letter brought back a memory to me. For a period of time, during the 1950s, Parker Drug Co. gave each football team member a free milkshake and a pack of “square nabs” each time we won a football game.

We did not win every game, but we were able to enjoy this generous treat “fairly” often.

As Kenneth stated in his letter, we have been gifted with good memories.
