Robert Lewis Bradshaw
IVOR—Robert Lewis Bradshaw Sr., 72, of Ivor passed away Friday, July 23, 2010, at his home.
Robert served in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed at Travis Air Force Base in California.
He retired from Smithfield Foods after 46 years.
Robert was an avid deer hunter and member of Ivor Hunt Club, where he served as treasurer for 45 years.
Robert enjoyed NASCAR for many years following his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt Sr.
Robert was a member of Ivor United Methodist Church and volunteer with Ivor Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Lewis and Dahlia Hall Bradshaw, and wife, Rena Lucille Stone Bradshaw.
Robert is survived by his son, Robert Lewis Bradshaw Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Richmond; daughter Renay Bradshaw of Richmond; grandchildren Robert Lewis Bradshaw III, Nancy-Wren Bradshaw and Mallory, Christian and Timothy Wheeler; companion Donna Gwaltney; sister Betty Whisenant and her husband, Ralph; niece Yvonne Gwaltney and her husband, Roy, and children Tiffany Vick and Michael Gwaltney.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 24, at Purviance Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Wakefield. A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 25, at the funeral home with the Revs. Anne Beale and Cliff Fritzinger officiating.
Burial will follow in Ivor Cemetery.
