NEWPORT NEWS—Operation Homefront-Hampton Roads is collecting new school supplies for military children through its Back-to-School Brigade program.

Items needed include backpacks, spiral notebooks, notebook paper, pens, pencils, markers, crayons, rulers, colored pencils, calculators, erasers and more.

The Hampton Roads Chapter hopes to donate 1,200 backpacks locally.
