SUFFOLK—The Suffolk and Windsor Devilrays 12U All-Star Team won the SYAA Fourth of July girls’ softball tournament.

The team, which consists of six girls from the Windsor Stingrays and six from SYAA’s Dare Devils in Suffolk, defeated Southampton 10-4 on Friday and Deep Creek 13-2 on Saturday before losing 7-5 to Southern Chesapeake later in the day.

The Devilrays returned Sunday with a 13-0 win over Southampon in three innings. The Devilrays defeated Southern Chesapeake 13-6 to take the title.

Team members are Nicole Wright, Carlie Campbell, Marissa Mullen, Gabby Black, Stasha Waterfield, Samantha Flannery, Heather Byrum, Lindsay Carlesi, Morgan Whitley, Payton Gay, Savannah Jackson and Sami Gizara.

Coaches are Nathan Gay, Barney Campbell, Jim Perry and Steve Black.

The team will travel to a tournament in Deep Creek this weekend.
