IVOR—Kelly Morris is no amateur when it comes to pet grooming; she has been doing it for 37 years.

On June 25 Morris opened Kelly’s Grooming Salon in Ivor. Previously, she worked from her home. She grooms all breeds of dogs.

“I was raised in the grooming business,” Morris said. “My family owns the oldest grooming business in the Tidewater Region, in Virginia Beach. Some customers have been with us for 50 years.”

She said her mother taught her how to groom animals.

When asked about how business was, Morris replied, “It’s great, lots of customers.”

She said many of her customers have recommended her to other people.

Bobby Stephenson of Ivor has been a customer for more than two years.

“She does a really good job,” Stephenson said.

Morris said customers should come to her shop because she is the only employee there, so she can promise the quality of care the animals will receive. She offers a lot of “tender loving care” for pets and will work with customers to make sure their pets are at ease.
