Heat just won’t let up

FRANKLIN—Tuesday’s high temperature of 103 degrees set yet another record, and today could bring more record-breaking heat.
Tuesday’s high eclipsed the previous record of 100 set in 1999, according to the website weather.com. Today’s high is expected to top out around 102. The record high for today’s date is 101 and was also set in 1999.
Temperatures are expected to fall into the mid to lower 90s for the rest of the week .
Temperatures soared past the 100-degree mark Tuesday and forecasters expect high temperatures to remain in the 90s the rest of the week with lows in the 70s.
According to weather.com, the average high for this time of year is in the upper 80s. The area experienced temperatures of 90 degrees or higher 23 days in June, including three days of 100-degree or higher temperatures.
