Bernice Alston Roberson, 88, of Halifax, N.C., died Friday July 2, 2010, at Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount, N.C.
Bernice was born in Halifax County, N.C., to Gid and Nannie Crawley Alston.
A homemaker, she was the widow of Sylvester Roberson.
Bernice was a member of Community Baptist Church in Darlington, N.C.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lucy Joyce Glasgow.
Surviving are three daughters Sylvia Roberson of Halifax, Christine Albright and her husband, Roger, of Sellarsville, Pa., and Betty Watts and her husband, Walter, of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; two sons, Douglas Roberson and Sherwood Roberson and his wife, Libby, all of Halifax; 14 grandchildren Alisha Price of Sellarsville; Alexis Hunn of Lebanon, Tenn.; Amos Albright of Huntington, Ind.; Alayne Erickson of Billings, Mont.; Lance Watts of Darlington, Brian Watts of Newport, N.C.; Kenzi Hodge of Greensboro, N.C.; Chris Glasgow of Alexandria, Va.; Angus Glasgow, Amy Harrison and Buck Glasgow, all of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; Brad Roberson and Daniel Roberson, both of Darlington and Kyle Roberson of Leonardtown, Md.; 24 great-grandchildren, Julie Negley; Chelsea and Keeley Price; Zachary, Zimmer, Stephanie and Zeb Hunn; Eli, Adam, Anna and Isaac Albright; Gavin, Anika, Olivia, Tucker and Theo Erickson; Brenden and Natalie Watts; Adin and Zelda Hodge; Coleman Glasgow; Jeffrey Harrison; Noah Glasgow and Braxton Roberson.
Funeral services were held Monday in the chapel of Wrenn, Clarke & Hagan Funeral and Cremation Service in Roanoke Rapids with the Rev. Richard Newton officiating. Interment was in Crestview Memorial Cemetery, Roanoke Rapids.
