Kathryn H. Pittman
FRANKLIN—Kathryn Howerton Pittman, 87, died June 17, 2010, at Southampton Memorial Hospital.
A native of Suffolk, she was born Dec. 17, 1922, to the late George A. and Julia H. Howerton and widow of Virginius S. Pittman Jr.
Kathryn was a member of High Street United Methodist Church and a former member of Franklin Garden Club, The Garden Club of Virginia, Constantia Chapter Daughters of American Revolution, Southampton Historical Society, Southampton Hospital Auxiliary and Rawls Museum Arts.
She was also a member of Cypress Cove Country Club, Southampton Hospital Senior Circle and several bridge clubs.
Kathryn is survived by a daughter, Nancy H. Pittman of Charlotte, N.C., and a godchild, Susan L. Jones of New York City.
Kathyrn was predeceased by sisters, Margaret H. Johnson and her husband, Bill, and Mildred H. Jones and her husband, Langford; and a brother, George A. Howerton Jr. and his wife, Catherine.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. today, June 19 at Wright Funeral Home with the Revs. Susan Reaves and James W. Browder officiating.
Interment will be private.
