Get facts on tanning before you criticize it

To the Editor:

I am sickened to see all these negative comments on tanning.

Yes, it is my choice to tan. I enjoy tanning, and will not stop for any person, place or thing. Indoor tanning is not bad for you unless you get burnt.

Unlike the natural sun, which cannot be controlled, you do not realize you are burnt until it is too late. That is the fact.

Endless Summer is where I tan, and I can tell you they do not let their customers have that chance. Besides, someone can get skin cancer who never has tanned in a tanning bed. This is a fact because my aunt has never been in a tanning bed, and she has had skin cancer. I am here to tell you, she had sunscreen on and doesn’t get in the sun for long periods of time.

Skin cancer is caused at a very young age, not when you are older, and regardless or your race. Doctors will tell you that right to this day. So, unless you know the facts, don’t be critical.

The problem in a nutshell is our so-called “wonderful politicians.” They want to tax us and not reduce their wages.

I personally think that all taxes are ridiculous when it comes to grabbing at luxuries to be taxed. Taxes should be kept to a minimum, then we could all maybe have something to look forward to when we retire.

These people, politicians, need to have their wages cut to make up for all of these taxes they are throwing out there to us. Let them live on some of our paychecks for a month. I am here to tell you, they would never make it. I will vote against every additional tax that they try to put on us. If everybody in the United States would vote against it, then they would not have a leg to stand on.

I believe this “change” in our country is for the birds. Where is the American pride? In God we trust, which they are trying to make us give up also. Well guess what, they cannot, nor will they ever change my faith. Are we all going to let them take God out of our hearts and minds? If you do, then shame on you.

If God hadn’t wanted us to have this luxury then tanning salons wouldn’t be doing so well.
