CARRSVILLE—Aaron Holloway Sr., 93, of Carrsville, departed this life May 28, 2010, in East Pavilion. He was born in Southampton County to the late Mark and Allice Holloway. Aaron known to all as “Punch” attended school in Handsom, VA and joined the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church at an early age.
For forty years, he worked as a farmer. He was also employed at Jack Story’s Service Station and was a carpenter for Strickland and Bobby Caulder. He retired from carpentry and from working with Claude Burgess. Aaron enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linia; a son, Raymond, two grandsons, Albert and Ronald; six brothers and two sisters.
He leaves to cherish his memory four sons, Aaron Holloway (Linda) of Suffolk, Va., Will Holloway (Elizabeth), Norman Holloway (Maurice) both of Carrsville, and Tommie Holloway (Brenda) of Franklin; two daughters, Josephine Ellsworth (Willis) and Mable Johnson (Earl) of Carrsville, Va.; one sister, Mary Whitehead of Up State New York; one sister-in-law, Eunice Milian of Franklin, Va.; twenty grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, a host of special nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services was held Tuesday at East End Apostolic Church, 410 East St., Franklin at 1 p.m. Bishop Stephen D. Willis, pastor. Rev. Dr. Joseph J. Ferguson, eulogist. Vaughan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
